Papillomas on the body are benign formations of an infectious nature. Mainly strains 16 and 18 tend to degenerate into malignant forms (over 100 species in total are known). Warts and papillomas are synonymous terms.
Features of the disease:
- It occurs in people of all ages, mainly in women (the number of detected cases is 1. 5 times higher than in men).
- Infection occurs through family contact or sexual contact. It remained unnoticed for a long time, as the virus does not have a strong impact on the immune system. Also, after insertion into the genome, only the viral DNA and not the virus itself (which is virtually impossible to remove).
- There are several vaccines that are designed to reduce infection and reduce susceptibility to viral agents.
- Immunity after infection is formed by type-specific, non-cross, stress-free, low, synonymous with the possibility of reinfection.
Reason
The main cause of the appearance of papillomas on the body is the human papillomavirus (HPV, papillomavirus). It belongs to viruses that contain DNA, which explains their ability to integrate into the human genome and change structure. The virus enters the bloodstream through damaged microflora and settles on the basal layer of the epidermis. Division occurs only at the level of the germ layer, in the rest the virus can be detected, but there is no division at these levels.
There are several clinical forms of the disease:
- manifestation - primary viral infection in immunocompromised people;
- subclinical - a form in which the manifestations of this pathology occur periodically, followed by prolonged relapses;
- latent - a form that involves direct integration of the virus into the genome (transportation).
Factors that influence tumor growth:
- Damaged skin. The virus cannot enter the bloodstream without at least a small lesion on the skin, which is considered the entryway to infection.
- Reduced immunity. HPV can be considered as a conditionally pathogenic virus that is dangerous to humans in the event of suppression of normal cellular or humoral immune responses.
- Failure to observe hygiene rules when visiting public places. The virus is contagious, and infection can occur even at low concentrations in the environment.
- Violation of the normal diet, frequent stress and lack of proper rest lead to a weakening of the immune system, the body becomes susceptible to the effects of pathogens.
- Inflammatory and infectious diseases often lead to a weakened immune system (this is especially important for people who are often ill).
- Human papillomavirus can also be passed from mother to baby at birth (vertical transmission).
External expression
External manifestations of papillomas in the photo have the following features:
- Many protruding formations on the surface of the skin. They can have the classic wart appearance (a flat lesion on a wide stalk) or have a thin stalk and hang over the skin like a hive.
- The color is rarely different from the surrounding tissue. The exception is the germination of the formation in the superficial vascular network, in which case it is red. A rapid color change signals the possibility of regeneration (molecular differentiation is also performed).
- The border is usually even and clear. The exceptions are formations that have degenerated into a tumor.
- The surface is usually smooth and slightly glossy. In case the location is in the upper eyelid, neck, armpit area, the surface is often uneven, raised like a cauliflower.
- Diameters range from small foci a few mm to 1-2 cm. On the same part of the human body, there can be shapes of different sizes. If the papilloma grows too quickly, a doctor should be consulted.
How to remove papillomas
Treatment of body papillomas takes place according to a single plan, regardless of the exact location (for each specific type there is an optimal choice or combination):
- Destructive methods (physical and chemical).
- Combination techniques (simultaneous effects of topical drugs and destructive treatment options).
It is permissible to treat papillomas with cytotoxic and immunological preparations only in terms of an overall course (papillomatosis, that is, a very large number of papillomas on the body). In the case of single preparations, such therapy is not performed due to the large number of side effects and cross-reactivity of drugs of these classes.
Destruction method
Destructive treatment options are the same for all types of skin lesions caused by HPV. They are divided into physical and chemical.
Material destruction method:
Method | Description |
---|---|
Condenser | The formation is severed layer by layer from the healthy skin (can form a rather deep, slow-healing defect). In conditions of deep lesions, it is performed under local anesthesia with a solution of lidocaine (2%). For this, a needle electrode is used. |
Cryodestruction | Usually liquid nitrogen, nitrogen oxide or carbon dioxide is used. The duration of exposure is chosen taking into account the location and extent of the lesion. Usually, it takes a few lessons with a frequency of 7-10 days. |
Laser Destruction | Remove skin tumors layer by layer using a focused beam of light of a certain wave. On average, exposure can last from 5 seconds to 3 minutes, depending on the extent of the injury. As a result, a scab appears at the site of the lesion. After that, it is necessary to wear a bandage until the wound heals. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia. |
Destruction by radiosurgery | The formation is destroyed by the action of electromagnetic waves in the range from 100 kHz to 105 MHz. In this case, the tissue is heated, and local necrosis occurs (suitable for removing small foci). |
Folk remedies
At home, it is possible to remove hair with home remedies, but it should be noted that the effectiveness is low. In addition, before conducting treatment, it is necessary to consult a specialist to distinguish warts from some other skin diseases with similar symptoms.
Mean | Recipe |
---|---|
Agar juice | Crush the stem with the obtained fresh juice, wipe the affected area 3-5 times / day, for 10 days. |
potato juice | Grate raw potatoes until mushy, then squeeze and wipe the formed part with the resulting juice 2-3 times a day. The course of treatment is 4-5 weeks. |
onion juice | Finely chop 1 onion, pressing a little until juice appears. Apply the resulting mixture to the focus area for 10-15 minutes, 2-3 times a day. Treatment should be carried out for 3 weeks. |
Calendula | Crush a few flowers in a mortar, apply the resulting mixture to the acne-affected skin and fix it for 30 minutes. Repeat the process morning and evening for 21 days. |
